Pro terms

Version 2026-11-04 · In effect since 4 November 2026

These terms apply when you buy schickit Pro (“Pro”) or start a trial of Pro. They explain what Pro includes, how billing, the trial, renewal and cancellation work, and what happens when Pro ends.

1. Scope

1.1 Provider

schickit and Pro are provided by Temprana UG (haftungsbeschränkt), An der Stadtmauer 7, 89522 Heidenheim an der Brenz, Germany (“we”, “us”). Full provider details are in the legal notice.

1.2 Relationship to the terms of use

Pro is schickit's paid plan referred to in section 11 of the terms of use. These terms supplement the terms of use that apply to your account. Anything not specifically covered here is governed by the terms of use; this applies in particular to content, reports, liability, applicable law and jurisdiction.

Using schickit without Pro remains free of charge. Pro does not change the fact that schickit is in a beta (section 3 of the terms of use).

1.3 Acceptance

You accept these terms when you buy Pro or start a trial. The version published at the time of your purchase applies. No paid plan starts without your express order. When you buy on the web, you also confirm with a tick before paying that Pro renews automatically at the price shown until you cancel; we store this consent with its time.

2. What Pro includes

2.1 The limits without and with Pro

“Without Pro” means the limits in section 5.5 of the terms of use.

2.2 What the rows mean

  • Active tracks: A track counts as active as long as it has not been deleted and has at least one version that is ready, being processed or being uploaded.
  • Versions per track: You can upload new versions of a track and choose which version your links play. Without Pro a track holds up to three versions; versions that failed to process do not count.
  • Download of the original file: If you allow downloads on a link, recipients get your original file: the same audio in the same format, rebuilt without metadata, cover art or other data attached to the file (section 10.1 of the terms of use). Without Pro they get the streaming version.
  • Deleting a single version: With Pro you can delete a single version of a track. Without Pro you delete the whole track with all its versions; a version that failed and an upload in progress you can always delete.
  • Upload volume: What counts is the size of the files whose upload you started within 24 hours, even if you have since deleted the tracks.

Demo packs, your own tracks grouped behind one link, are included without Pro and are not limited.

The other limits in the terms of use also apply with Pro, in particular the maximum size of 500 MiB (about 524 MB) per file (section 5.1 of the terms of use).

2.3 What does not depend on Pro

Listening statistics in full detail and password-protected links are part of every account, with or without Pro. Recipients never pay anything: someone who opens one of your links needs neither an account nor Pro.

2.4 Which account Pro applies to

Pro applies to the schickit account you bought it for, in the studio, in the app and for all links of that account, whether you bought it on the web or in the app. If you buy in the app, Pro applies to the schickit account you are signed in to in the app when you buy. Pro cannot be transferred to another account.

3. Prices

  1. The prices for the monthly plan and the yearly plan are on our pricing page at schickit.com/pricing. The price is shown to you in the order process before you buy. The price shown there applies.
  2. For consumers in the European Union and the European Economic Area, the prices shown are final prices including VAT.
  3. If you buy on the web as a business and provide a valid VAT identification number, Paddle calculates VAT under the rules that apply to that case.
  4. In the app, Apple or Google show you the price in the currency of your store before you buy.
  5. We may make, change and end offers: discounts, offer prices and trials, also only for certain accounts or for a limited time. Whether an offer applies to you, how long it lasts and which price applies after it is shown to you in the order process before you buy. There is no entitlement to an offer.

4. Purchase and billing

4.1 On the web through Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle answers questions about payments and invoices and handles refunds.

When you buy on the web, Paddle is your contractual partner for the purchase and the payment; for buyers in the European Union this is Paddle.com Market Limited, London, United Kingdom. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to this. We provide Pro itself; these terms and the terms of use apply to that.

We show the order process in the Studio on our own page: beside it is our summary with price, tax and renewal, and Paddle provides the form for address and payment. Paddle charges the price in advance at the start of each billing period, using the payment method you gave in the order process, and sends you an invoice by email. You enter your payment details in Paddle's form; we do not receive full card or account details.

4.2 In the app through Apple or Google

In the schickit app, you buy Pro as an in-app purchase: on the iPhone through Apple's App Store, on Android through Google Play. Apple or Google handle the purchase and charge the payment method of your Apple Account or Google Account. Purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds of such a subscription are governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Google Play Terms of Service. We provide Pro itself; these terms and the terms of use apply to that.

4.3 Do not buy twice

A purchase on the web also applies in the app, and the other way round. If you buy Pro on the web a second time while your first web subscription is running, we end the later purchase at once and refund it in full; your first subscription continues unchanged, and you get an email. If you have bought on the web and in the app, both subscriptions run and both are charged until you cancel one. We then refund the web purchase under the refund policy; for a purchase in the app, please contact Apple or Google.

4.4 If a payment fails

If a payment that is due cannot be collected, Paddle, Apple or Google will try again under their rules. On the web we tell you in the Studio under “Subscription”, and you can change your payment method there; you keep Pro until three days after the end of the paid period, and if a later payment succeeds, Pro applies again. Whether you keep Pro in the app while Apple or Google try again depends on their rules. If the payment finally fails, Pro ends and section 7 applies.

4.5 Prices and trials you are not entitled to

A purchase that uses a price, a discount or a trial that was not offered to your account or that your account is not entitled to under section 5 does not give you Pro. We end it at once and refund in full what you paid for it.

5. Trial

Whether a trial is offered for your purchase is shown in the order process before you buy. There is at most one trial per schickit account; in the app, the rules of Apple or Google on who can use an introductory offer also apply. For a trial:

  1. It lasts as long as the order process states before you buy and is free of charge. You need a payment method for it; nothing is charged during the trial.
  2. About 48 hours before it ends, we remind you by email on which day you will be charged and how to cancel; for a purchase on the web we also state the amount. In the Studio under “Subscription” you can always see when your trial ends.
  3. If you cancel before the trial ends, nothing is charged and Pro ends with the trial. In the App Store, Apple's rules require you to cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, on Google Play before it ends.
  4. If you do not cancel, the trial turns into the plan you chose, and the first payment is charged at the end of the trial.
  5. If the trial ends without a purchase, section 7 applies. Nothing is deleted.

6. Term, renewal and cancellation

6.1 Monthly plan

The monthly plan runs for an indefinite period and is billed monthly in advance. You can cancel it at any time with effect from the end of the current paid month.

6.2 Yearly plan

The yearly plan runs for one year from the first payment and is billed yearly in advance. If you do not cancel before the end of this first year, it continues, and the price for the following year is charged at its start.

  • If you are a consumer and bought on the web, the yearly plan continues for an indefinite period after the first year, and you can cancel it at any time with one month's notice. We refund the part of the yearly payment that covers the time after the end, pro rata.
  • If you are a business, you can cancel the yearly plan with effect from the end of each paid year.
  • If you bought in the app, renewal and cancellation are governed by the terms of Apple or Google (section 4.2).

6.3 How to cancel a subscription bought on the web

You can cancel a subscription you bought on the web in any of these ways:

  • in the Studio, in your account under “Subscription”, with “Cancel subscription”,
  • without signing in, on our cancellation page studio.schickit.com/cancel, which you also reach through “Cancel subscription” at the foot of schickit.com. There you give the email address of your schickit account and choose whether you cancel ordinarily or for good cause,
  • in Paddle's customer portal, which you reach in the Studio under “Subscription”, through the link in Paddle's confirmation email or through paddle.net,
  • by email to hello@schickit.com. Please give the email address of your schickit account.

You receive a confirmation of the cancellation by email, with the date and time it was received and the date on which Pro ends. Until then you can take back a scheduled cancellation in the Studio under “Subscription”.

6.4 How to cancel a subscription bought in the app

You cancel a subscription bought in the app with Apple or Google. In the app, “Manage in App Store” or “Manage in Google Play” in your account takes you there. On an iPhone you also find it under Settings → your name → “Subscriptions” → schickit → “Cancel Subscription”, on Android in the Play Store app under Profile → “Payments & subscriptions” → “Subscriptions” → schickit → “Cancel subscription”. We cannot cancel such a subscription for you.

6.5 When a cancellation takes effect

A cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; a cancellation with one month's notice under section 6.2 takes effect when that notice period ends. You keep Pro until then; after that, nothing more is charged. Whether an amount for the current period is refunded is set out in the refund policy.

6.6 If you delete your account

If you delete your schickit account, we cancel a subscription bought on the web so that nothing more is charged. The refund policy applies to payments already made. You must cancel a subscription from the app with Apple or Google yourself (section 6.4); otherwise they keep charging, even though your schickit account has been deleted.

6.7 Ending by us

We can end Pro with 30 days' notice with effect from the end of a paid period. The right of either side to end the contract for good cause (section 13.3 of the terms of use) remains unaffected. If Pro ends through us before the end of a paid period, we refund the part of the payment that covers the time after that, pro rata.

6.8 If the beta ends

If the beta ends (section 3.4 of the terms of use) during a paid period: if schickit continues as a regular service and you accept its terms, Pro continues. Otherwise Pro ends with your contract, and we refund the part of the payment that covers the time after that, pro rata.

7. When Pro ends

7.1 What stays and what applies again

Pro ends when a cancellation takes effect, a payment finally fails, a payment is refunded or a trial ends without a purchase. Then:

  • Nothing is deleted. All your tracks stay visible, playable, shareable and open to comments.
  • Existing links keep running until they expire, including links with 30 days or no expiry and links to demo packs.
  • You can create new links with 24 hours or 7 days. You can no longer change the expiry of an existing link to 30 days or no expiry.
  • If you have 5 or more active tracks, you can upload new tracks again once there are fewer than 5.
  • A track with three or more versions takes no new one, and you can no longer delete single versions. Every version stays playable, shareable and selectable.
  • If a link allows downloads, recipients get the streaming version instead of the original file.
  • Your demo packs and their links stay as they are and can still be used in full.
  • The upload volume without Pro applies to uploads again.

You can always revoke links and delete tracks, with or without Pro. If you buy Pro again, the limits of Pro apply again to everything in your account.

7.2 Original files

During the beta we keep the original file of a track as long as the track exists (section 10.1 of the terms of use), also after Pro ends. If later terms bring a storage rule for original files without Pro, it applies to you only if you actively accept those terms.

8. Price changes

  1. We can change prices for new purchases at any time.
  2. We raise the price of a running subscription only with your express consent. We tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price is to apply to you, state the new price and the date from which it is to apply, and ask for your consent. Silence does not count as consent.
  3. If you do not consent, your subscription continues at the previous price until the end of the paid period and then ends; section 7 applies. The new price is not charged without your consent.
  4. For a subscription bought in the app, Apple or Google obtain your consent through their store.
  5. When an offer ends after the time the order process stated, the price it stated for afterwards applies. This is not a price increase under this section.

9. Changes

9.1 Changes to Pro

We may change Pro for a valid reason, as described in section 3.3 of the terms of use. A change does not cost you anything extra. If it impairs your access to Pro or the usability of Pro more than insignificantly, we tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. You can then end Pro free of charge within 30 days of that notice; if the change comes later, the 30 days start with the change. We refund the part of the payment that covers the time after the end, pro rata.

9.2 Changes to these terms

Section 14 of the terms of use applies accordingly to changes to these terms: we may make editorial changes by publishing a new version; material changes apply to you only if you actively accept them. If you do not accept a material change, the previous version continues to apply to you, and we may end Pro under section 6.7. Section 8 applies to prices.

10. Refunds, withdrawal and statutory rights

10.1 Refunds

When you get money back is set out in our refund policy: within 14 days of any payment on the web, you get it back on request. Where these terms provide for a pro rata refund, this also applies to purchases in the app; because Apple or Google handle the billing there, we pay the amount back to you ourselves, for example by bank transfer.

10.2 Right of withdrawal

When you buy Pro, as a consumer you have a statutory right of withdrawal against the seller. On the web, this is Paddle; how long the right lasts, when it expires and how you exercise it are set out in Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy. You can also declare the withdrawal to us: in the 14 days after your first payment, the Studio shows “Withdraw from Pro purchase…” in your account under “Subscription”. If you confirm, Pro ends at once, we arrange the full refund with Paddle and confirm the withdrawal to you by email; your account stays. What applies to a further withdrawal is set out in section 5 of the refund policy. In the app it is Apple or Google, under their terms.

10.3 Statutory rights

Your statutory rights if Pro does not work as described remain unaffected.

11. Final provisions

11.1 Liability, law and jurisdiction

Sections 12 and 16 of the terms of use apply to liability, applicable law and jurisdiction.

11.2 Versions and language

Each version of these terms carries the date from which it applies. Earlier versions remain available at schickit.com/legal/pro-terms/history. These terms are available in German and English. The version binding for you is the one in the language in which you read it when you bought; the other is provided for information. If the two versions differ, the one more favourable to you applies.
